Castello di Querceto, Chianti Classico Riserva 2019

The castle of Querceto takes its name from the forest oaks which surround the old fortified walls. Nestled in the rolling hills of Tuscany, Castello di Querceto have been producing wines known for their elegance, quality and character for over 100 years. Their Chianti Classico Riserva 2019 is made from 100% Sangiovese. The grapes were hand-harvested and matured in oak for 24 months and an additional 3 months in bottle prior to release. It has a nose of ripe cherry, blackberry and violet, with hints of spice and an earthy savouriness. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, with well-integrated tannins, bright acidity, and flavours of strawberry, tobacco, and a touch of oak. A balanced, elegant finish. Drinking well now, but will get better over the next 5 years.
